Once an auto repair shop and then a famed Latin dance studio, the space that’s now the Beast Next Door was lovingly transformed into a rustic cocktail bar, with tables made from 1940s metal-framed pallets, wood salvaged from an abandoned industrial building and refurbished church pews lining the original brick wall. Artisanal cocktails—like the whiskey-based Oolong Express, the Earl Grey–infused gin and elderflower Grey Garden and the Smoking Shaman, made with tequila—pair beautifully with the French menu of sandwiches, salads, oysters and charcuterie.
