Vietnamese immigrants have settled in Kingsbridge Heights, giving rise to the wonderful and authentic Cơm Tấm Ninh Kiều. Fragrant, brothy noodle soups, banh mi sandwiches, fried spring rolls, shrimp cakes, sweet-tinged beef vermicelli and the house special, "broken rice" (a popular dish from southern Vietnam), make it worth the trek for any pho-loving gourmand who resides elsewhere. The atmosphere is no-frills, but the spicy, aromatic and savory embellishments in the dishes provide plenty of color.
