It's hard to fill the space once occupied by an institution, but the vacant space that was once Florent has been scrubbed down, shined up and transformed into Gansevoort 69, a hybrid of stylish Meatpacking bistro and late-night diner. It remains a quintessentially downtown New York restaurant, satisfying midday shoppers, local residents and late-night clubgoers equally. The kitchen serves brunch everyday till 4pm and an all-night menu of upscale munchies; considering that the owners run nearby party spot Bagatelle, the vibe is clubby and cool.
