View Website

Description

Named after Marie Sklodowska-Curie, the revered Polish scientist and the first person to be awarded with two Nobel Prizes (one in physics, one in chemistry), this 2.42-acre park was opened in 1956. One of three Queens school parks to be named after famous scientists—the others are named after Galileo and Sir Isaac Newton—it features basketball courts, handballs courts, a 40-foot outdoor pool and a sprawling lawn that includes kid-friendly spray showers.
