Description

Standing 250 feet tall and weighing 170 tons, City landmark the Parachute Jump is an impossible-to-miss part of the Coney Island skyline—especially when it is lit up at night. Constructed as part of the 1939 World’s Fair, the Parachute Jump was transplanted to Coney Island’s Steeplechase Park in 1941, and operated as a ride until the park’s shutdown in 1964.
