The subject of restoration efforts since 1996, the Ravine was once an area run down by decades of overuse and soil erosion. But now, this narrow gorge—home to a soothing stream, thick foliage and Brooklyn’s only forest—is in full recovery mode. Weekly guided tours can help visitors learn more about the area’s biodiversity, and how it can be protected and restored for future generations.
