It offers a welcome respite from Times Square’s chains, and when it comes to your pocketbook, you can eat and drink without breaking the bank. Dishes include daikon salad, fried squid, spaghetti with cod roe and sauteed pork belly; there is as well an extensive array of sake, shochu and umeshu (plum wine), along with specialty cocktails and Japanese beer.
