Description
Just a short ride from Manhattan on the E, F express subway lines, the West Side Tennis Club feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the City. The private tennis club features 38 courts in different surfaces (clay, grass and hardcourt), a junior Olympic-size swimming pool and other amenities, and years ago hosted many professional competitions; it was the original home of the US Open for nearly 60 years, featuring matches with champions like Bill Tilden and Martina Navratilova. These days its best known as the home of Forest Hills Stadium, featuring bands Zac Brown Band, Lil Wayne, Alabama Shakes and Ed Sheeran.
