New York City Tourism + Conventions, the official destination marketing organization and convention and visitors bureau for the five boroughs, is pleased to highlight product updates for visitors and delegates.

Transportation
John F. Kennedy International Airport | Jamaica, Queens | Ongoing
Building on the recently completed Terminal 8 (T8) Expansion project, John F. Kennedy Airport announced a $125 million commercial redevelopment initiative, including 300+ new concessions and 60+ new retail offerings, emphasizing local, minority and women-owned businesses. JFK also saw the groundbreaking of the new, upcoming $4.2 million redevelopment of Terminal 6, which will occupy the site of the former Terminal 6 and Terminal 7. Construction is also currently underway at Terminal 1, which will become a state-of-the-art terminal with 23 gates and 300,000 square feet of dining, retail, lounges and recreation, expected to open in 2026.
Newark Liberty International Airport | New York City Metropolitan Area | Ongoing
In addition to the new Terminal A offering 33 gates serving Air Canada, American Airlines, JetBlue and United Airlines customers and directly connected to a multilevel parking facility, EWR is also working toward a new 2.5-mile elevated guideway train system to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions and ease traffic congestion. Most recently, Terminal A was given a prestigious five-star rating by Skytrax, the preeminent aviation industry ratings firm, joining LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B as the only two airport terminals in North America awarded the highest rating by Skytrax.
Port Authority Bus Terminal Replacement | Midtown Manhattan | 2032
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey recently unveiled an updated design to replace the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The new Midtown Bus Terminal will replace the 73-year-old terminal with a world-class facility. The $10 billion facility will be designed to meet projected 2040–2050 commuter growth and include a 2.1 million square foot main terminal, new ramps leading directly into and out of the Lincoln Tunnel, a central main entrance, more street-level retail, public open space, and a multi-story indoor atrium. Construction is expected to be completed by 2032.

Currently under construction, the expansion of the Clinton Cove Park area is now in design and will feature a playground with water spray features, sunset plaza seating, an activity field and an all-ages slide.
Bronx Point | South Bronx | Ongoing
Bronx Point is a 530,000-square-foot mixed-use development in the South Bronx, opening in phases with housing, retail, public space, a waterfront promenade and cultural programming including the Hip Hop Museum in 2025.
TSX Broadway | Times Square, Manhattan | Ongoing
TSX Broadway, a new development including a hotel—Tempo by Hilton Times Square—The Palace Theatre, dining, retail and entertainment stages is underway and opening in phases, with the recent unveiling of its 18,000-square-foot podium LED Screen where visitors and locals alike can upload 15-second videos casting over Times Square.
New York City Football Club Stadium | Willets Point, Queens | 2027
As part of a private-public partnership, NYCFC will fully finance and build New York’s first professional soccer stadium. The Willets Point project will have 25,000 seats, a new public school, 40,000 square feet of public open space and will bring 2,500 affordable homes to the community. The project will add an estimated 16,000 jobs and predicted $6 billion to the City’s economy.

Inaugurated in 1979 to establish and promote Korean culture in NYC, the Korean Cultural Center New York recently debuted its new location at 122 East 32nd Street, providing a newly expanded platform to continue operations as a hub for Korean culture.
Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center | West Village, Manhattan | June 28, 2024
The first visitor center within the national park system dedicated to LGBTQ+ history will open in 2024, honoring and exploring the history of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising at a storefront next door to the historic Stonewall Inn.
The Frick Collection | Upper East Side, Manhattan | Late 2024
The Frick Collection will return to its original home at The Frick Mansion in late 2024 in a repurposed space including 27,000 square feet of new construction. Additionally, the second floor of the original Frick residence will become accessible to the public for the first time.
National Urban League’s Urban Civil Rights Museum | Harlem, Manhattan | Late 2024/Early 2025
The museum, which will be housed in National Urban League’s new Harlem headquarters, the Urban League Empowerment Center, will be the first dedicated to the American Civil Rights Movement and one of the only museums in the nation to delve into to the movement in the North.
The Hip Hop Museum | South Bronx | 2025
Located just south of Yankee Stadium, this space will pay homage to the South Bronx’s rich culture and history as the birthplace of hip-hop.
Delacorte Theater | Central Park, Manhattan | 2025
The Public Theater, in partnership with the Central Park Conservancy, NYC Parks and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, is embarking on a much-needed revitalization of the 61-year-old theater, The major investment will dramatically improve the home of Free Shakespeare in the Park, addressing critical infrastructure, accessibility and theatrical needs.
New Museum | Nolita, Manhattan | 2025
The New Museum broke ground on a 60,000 square foot expansion, the first since opening its doors in 2007. The seven-story space will double the museum’s exhibition spaces and feature a new public plaza that will be home to art installations, performances and gatherings.
The American LGBTQ+ Museum | Upper West Side, Manhattan | 2026
The New-York Historical Society will incorporate a museum dedicated to LGBTQ+ history, slated to open in 2026 as the first in the nation showcasing global, national and local LGBTQ+ history and culture.
Ellis Island Museum | New York City | 2026
The State of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation recently announced a $100 million revitalization of Ellis Island Museum, including technological advancements, reimagined exhibitions and new theaters. In addition to reimagining the historic museum, the revitalization will expand the Records Discovery Center, increasing from 65 million to 154 million names in its database.
National Black Theater | East Harlem, Manhattan | 2027
The National Black Theater has embarked on a major capital redevelopment project that will transform the current property into a modern destination for Black culture through theater. The new multidisciplinary cultural arts facility will sit in an arts district occupying 25,000 square feet of space across the ground floor, basement, 3rd, 4thand5th floors of a 21-story residential, commercial and cultural mixed-use development.

The campaign will have a focus on inclusivity, acknowledgment and education, sharing the important perspectives of marginalized audiences including those of the Indigenous community, women, LGBTQ+ community and people of color.
America 250th Anniversary | New York City & Nationwide | 2026
In 2026, the US will celebrate 250 years since its founding. NYC will celebrate in a big way as the nation’s first capital, the birthplace of American government and the place where the Bill of Rights was written—as well as placing a focus on the untold stories of Black and Indigenous communities and their impact on NYC’s history.

The US Open Golf Championship is one of golf's four major championships, known for its challenging courses and rigorous competition among the world's top players.

NYC and New Jersey will host the capstone events to kick off the 250th anniversary of America’s Independence. From July 3 through July 8, millions across the nation will witness the largest-ever international flotilla of ships and vessels sailing into the ports of New York and New Jersey. The six-day celebration will also host an array of festivities including firework displays, food festivals, a special Fleet Week, and more.
The Army-Navy Football Game Presented by USAA | New York City & New Jersey | December 2026
NYC, along with the state of New Jersey, will be the host city for The Army-Navy Football Game presented by USAA in 2026. The game will be hosted at the Meadowlands Complex as part of the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and will be the 19th time the game has been played in New York or New Jersey.

City Sights Guided NYC Premium Bus Tour | Manhattan | 2024
This new five-hour bus tour showcases iconic sights throughout Manhattan—Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Battery Park and more—via a luxury vehicle with a tour guide providing details of the City’s rich history. Throughout the trip, stops for short walking tours are included at sites like the High Line, as well as a boat cruise on the Staten Island Ferry for views of the New York Harbor and Statue of Liberty.
Reimagined Experiences at Top of the Rock | Midtown Manhattan | 2024
Visitors can now recreate the famous 1932 photograph “Lunch Atop a Skyscraper,” depicting ironworkers perched on a steel beam while 30 Rockefeller Plaza was under construction. The Beam experience has opened on the 69th floor of Top of the Rock offering an interactive photo experience, while soaring more than 800 feet in the sky. Opening this summer is a new mezzanine level with interactive experiences, and later this year, the Skylift on the 70th floor, which will raise visitors 30 feet above the uppermost rooftop upon a circular glass platform.
Happy Land Memorial: The Garifuna Experience in NYC | South Bronx | April 2024
This walking tour explores the significance of the West Farms neighborhood and the Happy Land Social Club Fire to both NYC and the Garifuna community. Dedicated to the 87 men and women who lost their lives in the fire in 1990, the Happy Land Memorial is a landmark that serves as the gateway to the largest Garifuna village in the world and evidence of a long history and lasting Garifuna presence in the South Bronx.

The highly anticipated opening of Corima offers a new option of “progressive Mexican” cuisine, pioneered by the husband/wife duo Chef Fidel Caballero and Sofia Ostos. The name Corima, derived from the Tarahumara language of the Indigenous people in Chihuahua, translates to "circle of sharing." Prior to its permanent location, the restaurant made waves through citywide pop-ups.
